What I did in Luxembourg?
I have been accepted for a 2 months research trainee programme under the Luxembourg Institute of Science & Technology in Belvaux, Luxembourg. I applied this programme as a part of my PhD research project. I received a Life Cycle Assessment training from LIST.
For this programme, I received an Erasmusplus Traineeship fund as a monthly support allowance (EUR380/month) and also trainee allowance from LIST (EUR1000). I lived in one of the University of Luxembourg student accommodation, which located 8 mins walking from LIST. So, the allowance is more than enough to survive monthly.
I applied the Erasmusplus Traineeship programme that provided in my university, under Centre of Global Programme, University of York, UK. LIST is not a part of their placements anyway, but they allowed me to apply as it is a part of my PhD research, but should fulfill their requirements, such as minimum 2 months placement (more than 60 days). Once I have arrived in Luxembourg, which started the placement, I have to report to my university by giving them the certificate of arrival that signed by the supervisor at placement. It is a proof to allow them to pay the first 70% of the total payment, and the grant is paid in two instalments. I received the second instalment once I have finished my placement.
Please do contact me if you need more information about this programme.
