What are the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships?

Imagine winning one of the world's most prestigious scholarships and completing your doctorate in one of the countries with the best quality of life in the world. Sounds good, doesn't it? Not only does Canada have a good quality of life, but its cities are quite safe, it has an excellent education system and incredible natural landscapes. In addition, job offers for qualified personnel are considerably more numerous than in other countries.

This seems to be one of the reasons why the Government of Canada founded the Vanier Scholarships in 2008: its aim is to attract highly qualified students to the country, and thus get them to settle in there in order to become a world centre of excellence in higher education and research. It seems that there are problems in the country in filling positions of all kinds, especially those requiring a certain level of qualification, as there is a high demand and a low offer of workers of this type.

The Vanier PhD scholarships have a number of characteristics that make them some of the most sought-after, as they count with:

  • A duration of 3 years (non-extendable).
  • A value of approximately $50,000 per year.
  • A number of 166 scholarships per year.

Interesting, isn't it? Do you want to know if you are eligible for one of these scholarships in the country of the Mounties? Read on!
