Tourist in my hometown

Morning morning, readers!

I was not about to tell you this part of my Erasmus, but I said to myself; why not? Before the cruise to Copenhague, in April, I had the need to come back home (despite I did not want to go, I was incredibly good in Oslo) but I did not have clothes enough for the good weather (because there is some in Oslo too ahaha).

Actually, despite all the people I knew in Oslo I was the one with less clothes. I think I went there with four jeans, three basic t-shirts with long sleeve, two or three sweaters, a couple of jumpers, two thermic clothes, four of five t-shirts, leggings and… not too much more. So, yes I had to come back home.

So I booked a ticket online from Sunday to Wednesday (no more time than the necessary). To come in April meant that everybody was going to be busy: university, job… I was going to be really bored so I decided to invite Flavie to come with me to know my home town. She asked her parents for it and they said yes, so we booked another ticket and on Sunday afternoon we were flying to Valencia with the worse airline ever, or as Flavie said: "to the good weather".

When we arrived my dear mother was waiting for us inside the airport of Manises while my dad was outside waiting with the car. I have to recognize that I ran away a tear when I saw her. We travelled by car the little distance between the airport and my house, just in three minutes.. I emptied my suitcase to full it with spring clothes. I left the hair – dryer, that instrument I have never used in my entire life but it was one of those things you take "in case of…" and it came to Oslo with me to continue unused.

Flavie gave to my parents the presents she bought for them. It was very funny because Flavie had studied some Spanish at high school so I told my mother to talk slowly, but she is from a little village where they speak really fast and It was imposible for her to do it. Flavie's faces where awesome ahaha. She bought the typical and good Norwegian chocolate (soooo good, well, not now because I am on a diet) and an Aquavit bottle (strong alcohol).

That afternoon we only could visit my grandmother and my aunt because it was a little bit late when we landed. Then we went to show Flavie a magnificent place: the 100 Montaditos (tapas). She liked it. You can order tapas for one euro every Sunday and Wednesday and it was Sunday so… perfect! My brother took us with his girlfriend too. She can talk English which is perfect. My brother is more gestural (I wish I could have recorded him, he was too funny).

I have to say I was happy that day, I was glad to be in Valencia again, although humidity slapped my face when we came out the plane.

On Monday we started with the typical tour: Valencia center. We stopped in Xàtiva with the metro and shown Flavie the Estación del Norte of trains (North Station) one of the two train stations there are in the city, the oldest one, of course, with a modernist style. Then I took her to the next sidewalk where is located the bullring (in Valencia, fortunately, it is more use to celebrate the Oktober fest than to bullfights. It could be used only for that, in fact…). After, we followed the Colon Street, the one with the shops, and we shopping, of course ahaha. Then we went to meet my friend Maria and continued the visit on the Plaza de la Reina, where is located the Cathedral of Valenciawith its baroque gate and the Miguelete (a tower where you can go upstairs and have a really good views from the city… but too many stairs for us). We finished that visit arriving to the Basilic on the Plaza de la Virgen and closed the morning before going to have lunch we took a look to the Serranos Torres.

In the afternoon we decided to go to the beach because it was a long time we did not enjoy the sun like that. We went by bike and my brother and my friend Maria came with us, too. It was so nice. I missed to ride a bike like that, outside and with good weather (I love to ride a bike). We could enjoy a sunny day, but windy. We rode all the Turia's riverbed from my place to the City of Arts and Sciences, where we stopped to take some pics. Then we continued to the beach where we sat on the sand and smelled the salty air. We did not care too much about the wind, we had warm sun.

Tuesday was the day of visiting the campus. We went by bike again and showed Flavie my Faculty and the then she opened her mouth when she saw the campus of the Universitat Politécnica, because it is like a little city. There we had a break and took a juice while the sun slapped our faces (and we were really happy of that). I do not remember what we did after lunch, sorry. Maybe Flavie can remember me that :).

Wednesday was the day to return, and in the morning we dedicated the time to ourself: hairdressing and the beautician. These things in Oslo were too expensive to do. We packed and ate and they drove us to the airport to arrive five hours later to the other part of Europe, again, to enjoy our dear Oslo.
