Student rooms
Hi there!
Before coming to Hasselt you have to search for a student room!!
Here is a database with almost all student studios in Hasselt and Diepenbeek
You can check the prices (you can find from 200eur up/ month including utilities)
Don't forget that you have to contact your landlord in advance(most of them speak English very well, so is easy to communicate)!!!
Usually you have to pay a caution deposit of 1 or 2 rents(depends on the contract), which you will take back when the contract ends, if the room it's OK.
The contract is usually 6 months or 11 months.
Hope this is useful.
Any questions, do not hesitate to contact me, and I can help you.

Hi!! I´m brazilian and I will be going to Hasselt to study for 7 months at UHasselt! I was reading your comments about living in Hasselt, and in the end you say "don´t hesitate to contact me..." so... I need to know some rooms to stay that are close to the Campus of Diepenbeek, and are not too expansive! I send e-mails to Studhio, and some others, but any of them answered me yet! Could you help me to find an accomodation? There is something else I need to know...my sister is interessed on going with me to stay for 3 months to get fluency on english languadge...is there a good languadge school in Hasselt (also not too expansive?) I apreciate the information you could give me!! Kind regards, Karine

Hello, indeed I will help you. First of all check this website for consulting the prices ( https://uhintra3.uhasselt.be/svkamers/ZoekRes.aspx ). If you want to live nearby the campus you might choose amongst the following streets: Ginderoverstraat, Nierstraat, or Pepesstraat, (of course there are other streets too), however on these streets are located the most of student rooms. I would recommend to give up on emails and start calling. Most landlords speak English/French, as well most of them don't read emails, it happened to me too so I started to make phone calls. They will indeed pick up calls and you can mention the period you would like to stay. If you really don't manage to find a room, I will make a tour around the neighborhood and I will get information to help you. As regarding for your sister there is a good language school in in Hasselt, PCVO Moderne Talen ( http://www.modernetalen.be/Index.htm ) and they are really skilled. Nevertheless she can practice at the university too, because there are a lot of international students. Here you can find the latest Facebook Erasmus group, perhaps you can find info there too. ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/661433237241010/ ). If you need further information, write here and I will do my utmost to help you. Best regards, Alin
