Why did you choose to go to Baku, Azerbaijan?

Because its a cheap and a secular state.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I don't have a scholarship, living here is relatively cheap, aside from accommodation I spend around 300$ a month and I think it's enough.

What is the student lifestyle like in Baku?

I will update this once I start. I'm quite new here.

What is the food like?

I haven't had many Azerbaijani dishes but the ones I had were acceptable. Personally I cook my own food and since things here are cheap and mostly available I'm quite satisfied regarding food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Baku?

I was offered a hostel from the university but it's quite expensive relative to what I could have with the same price. Once the student gets his/her residence permit I think it'll be easy to find a good place to stay with good price.

How much does it cost to live in Baku?

It depends on the area you live in. The nearer you are from the centre the more expensive. But the most expensive apartment i have found is around 600$ in which was in the centre with 2 rooms. You can easily find a nice apartment that you share with a friend for 300$ but it'll be a bit far from the centre of the city.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Learning the language is quite compulsory here. And bachelor programmes also include studying Russian language. No idea how difficult it is.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Baku from your city?

Busses and Metro (The Underground)
