Travel to Aveiro and Águeda, Portugal.
I always wanted to visit Aveiro, because they call it (the Venice of Portugal), then because it’s near to the beautiful city (Águeda ) I visited also on the same day.
Aveiro :
Aveiro it a small beautiful city, with a river in the middle of it named (Ria de Aveiro), where are small nice boats like that one in Venice Italy.
People are nice and so kind, and the architecture is amazing, I visited some museums, cathedrals, churches and I took a ride with free bikes around the city with my friends, at the end I took a picture with the famous Yellow House. I noticed that people there are always enjoying the beauty of their city, so many of them eat out in restaurants.
Foods and drinks:
Restaurants were a little bite expensive for us as students, then we decided to have a normal meal from Pingo doce, but we tried the amazing sweets from Aveiro named (Ovos Moles).
How much cost the day in Aveiro ?
One day in Aveiro it cheap, 2 ways from Porto Sao Bento train station to Aveiro Train station were for 7 euros, and foods and drinks where around 5 euros.
Places I visited:
I visited Museu de Arte Nova and Museu de Aveiro, it was free because we are students, and these museums are amazing, showing amazing art, especially 3D art and some old things (Boat, Piano, Books, old cup of Portugal), I loved also the architecture inside the cathedrals.
I took a walk in the borders of the amazing River, and in the end I and my friends rent free bikes from (Loja BUGA, Aveiro) and we did a long ride around the entire city. Then we decided to go to Agueda at 15:00.
Águeda city :
Águeda is smaller than Aveiro, in the centre of it are some of the wonderful streets I saw in my life, it’s the famous Umbrella streets, those streets are covered with umbrellas and some with balloons as shown in the pictures below, I liked this small smart idea to attract more tourists, this is the real art for me. And also in the street there are so many street artists, which make the city more beautiful.
Those streets also have so many restaurants and coffee where you can rest and enjoy the beauty around you.
How much cost the visit to Águeda ?
I didn’t spend so much money because it was a visit for 3 hours, but 2 ways from Aveiro to Águeda costed me 4.3 euros
