What is the student lifestyle like in Aveiro?

PERFECT! Here is student organization -ESN- which organize A LOT OF wonderful events for Erasmus Student. They're the best!

Would you recommend the city and the University of Aveiro to other students?

YES YES YES!

What is the food like?

Perfect: wine, cheese, cakes, fishes, traditional food...

Bad: meat, ham, beer.

How much does it cost to live in Aveiro?

For 1 month you have to spend about 400-550 €. I spent 530€ per month, a lot of trips was included.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Portuguese is not easy, it's really difficult. The university gives the opportunity for Erasmus Students to take Portuguese classes (4h/week), for free, it is 6ECTS, You can include it to your LA. Almost every Erasmus Student go to those classes

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Aveiro from your city?

Plane (Ryanair).

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Aveiro in the future?

If you are looking for a flat/room- it's better to come here and take few nights in hostel (about 10€/night) and then looking for a flat on your own. The Portuguese landlord always say bigger price for renting to Erasmus Student, you have to negotiate, or better, ask your Portuguese friend to do it.
