Experience in Aveiro, Portugal by Cláudia
How's life in Aveiro? Do you recommend it? What's the city like?
Aveiro's lifestyle is very calm, its routines are very immutable and simple. It's a very safe city, and walking down the street you will always meet someone you know. The city is small but there are plenty of pleasant areas, especially on sunny days.
How's the student life in Aveiro?
The student life is very diverse, there is, although, some distance between the urban and student lifestyle, the presence of students in the city isn't very obvious except for Thursday nights.
How's the food? What are your favourite dishes?
You must try the ovos moles "soft eggs from Aveiro".
You must also go the Pizzarte and to Ramona!
Which are the recommended places to visit in Aveiro?
The district of Beira Mar (Bairo da Beira Mar) on a sunny day, and the Costa Nova beach.
How good are the restaurants in Aveiro? Could you recommend the best places to eat at?
- Pizzarte - Italian
- Ramona - hamburguers
- Subenshi - sushi
- Ceboleiro
- Augusto
- Porta 35
- Rebaldaria
How is the nightlife in Aveiro? Which are the best places to visit?
There is only one place where you can experience some nightlife in Aveiro: The Praça do Peixe. There isn't a lot of variety, but it's a lively place, especially on Thursdays and Saturdays during working periods.
The only club/disco I could recommend in this area is the Estação da Luz.
What advise would you give to future students going to Aveiro?
Enjoy the terraces and the sunny afternoons, get to know the Mercado Negro, the Casa do Chá and the areas marked by the Pó de Enguias Route.
