Why did you choose to go to Aveiro, Portugal?
I chose to go to Aveiro because was characteristic and not very expensive.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship lasted 3 months, and I received around 600 euros per month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Aveiro?
I had both fun and quiet time at the same time. Aveiro is not a big city so you don't feel unsafe walking in the city, not even at night.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Aveiro to other students?
Yes, definitely!
What is the food like?
The food is typical Portuguese food, very good.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Aveiro?
It didn't, because I chose the university accommodation.
How much does it cost to live in Aveiro?
The university accommodation costs 160 euros per month. The rest depends on your lifestyle and on what and where you eat.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes, the language is easy to learn and the University has language courses.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Aveiro from your city?
The easiest or most economical way to travel to Aveiro from my city is by train and flight.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Aveiro?
Anywhere, really!
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Aveiro?
I recommend going to Avaristo, Caffè Ramona, etc... but there are many others!
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The museum of Aveiro is a must see!
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Aveiro in the future?
Aveiro is the perfect city if you want to have fun and at the same time not live in a chaotic big city.
