What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Athens is a crowded city where you can see and do a lot of things!! I love Athens because i regard it as a resourse of inspiration! i would recommend it but its necessary to know that there isnt a lot of green mainly in the center of Athens! There are a lot of bars, clubs etc and you can enjoy untill morning!

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

In Athens the student life is pretty good because there are a lot of bars etc where only students go all the days of the week! Apart from entertainment, i like student lifestyle in Athens as you have many opportunities to get involved in many activities ( cultural activities, volunteering, go bicycling etc )

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

In order to rent a flat you need around 200-400 euros, it depends on the location.Many students in Athens also live together in order to share the expenses. except for these money, 350 euros per month allows you to do a lot of things besides of surviving :P

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

No its not difficult! A lot of block of flats have announcements in the entrance .

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are a lot of fast foods in the city and all people like going there. If you want to go to a restaurant ,maybe its a little expensive but there are some which worth a lot! The famoys foods in Greece are souvlaki (traditional greek food, must ) ,and mousakas.

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

The must is Acropolis (museum of Acropolis), Parthenon, Plaka , Panathenian Stadium

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes its good! There are a lot of places to eat, but the best are in Plaka (center of Athens) Mikrolimano , Pasalimani ( both in piraeus)

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

Yes!!! i think that everybodys loves the nightlife of Athens! There are places for all the styles! the biggest clubs are W and DC! There are also a lot of alternative bars in the centre of Athens, Excharxia and in the area called Chalandri.Finally there are couples of places with greek music and Danse which you can try them.

What advice would you give future students heading to Athens?

Take care at night
Drink ouzo, tsipouro and wine! (the first two are greek traditional drinks)
Eat souvlaki
Go to Aigina ( a small island close to Athens)
Explore the areas : Monastiraki, Thiseio, Plaka
Go to the bar A for athens or to 360o (both located in Monastiraki) to have a drink with a nice view to Acropolis or take beers and go to Acropoli's hill
