Why did you choose to go to Athens, Greece?

It was one option for me. But i wanted it anyway. Weather, culture, parties, new friends, great studies and experience.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

For 4 month i've got 2000 eur from ERASMUS programm for living. I am from Latvia. Each country have their own costs.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

Very interesting and full of everything. Studies, parties, travelling.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Athens to other students?

Of course.

What is the food like?

Amazing and delicious. Be careful to not to get fat; )

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Athens?

No, found it myself in the internet.

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

We found a flat of 3 rooms for 300eur in Neos Kosmos area. Super flat!

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Courses are available. Its is pretty easy to get to know a few words like Hello and How much. Efharisto poli!; p

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Athens from your city?

Flight.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Athens?

Gazi area or Monastiraki area. SIXDOGS club on Monastiraki the best thing for electronic music lovers.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Athens?

Universities restaurant is pretty good. I would suggest to go to the flea market to get everything and cook at home. If no time, there are a lot of eating stuff in the centre. Whatever you like. (I prefer Greek cuisine restaurants like Rosalia in Exarchia area)

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Kalambaka (Meteora), Island Mykonos and Santorini, Volos etc.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Athens in the future?

Be brave, be bold, be amazing! Don't be shy to ask anything to ESN workers even if you have your personal problem, they will always help you! Be patient with strikes and never give up on parties! Then you will get best memories of your lives! Cheers! Yamas!
