End of school year in Athens
I was for end of school year in Athens and I loved it! I also visited Aegina Island (very beautiful) and it was all very nice, except some trifles.
Going out, at least in Gazi quarter is similar to Madrid, I liked it a lot. We went into a nightclub with white roses on the WC walls and a “doorwoman”. Electronic music everywhere. Greek boys are very handsome. In Monastiraki quarter they use to do outdoors raves at night and it was fucking great.
I did not give many stars (evaluation ranking) to the climate because it was awfully hot. Prices were ok as they were cheaper than Spain. Public transport was wonderful, ferries were incredible cheap. Leisure and spare time were great as well. We visited many monuments and museums and a beach that is very beautiful though the stones.
Customs are very similar to Spain. When I just arrived I heard two people walking by with the “Chiki-chiki” song, so it must be true that it was liked in Europe. Something that attracted my attention was that when you go to a bar to take something to drink or eat, whatever, they serve a jar of water and as many glasses as much people are and sometimes, they also serve bread with herbs and olive paste. Food is great. I must say that we were almost all day in Monastiraki quarter and maybe they were more refined because is a touristic area. In the restaurants many people spoke Spanish and many menus where in Spanish.
Landscape where incredible. There is nothing comparable with the beauty of the Acropolis illuminated at night. Architectonic beauty, as you can easily imagine, is impressive.
I hope you have liked my experience. See you soon and I hope someone will write about Milan soon.
