What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Athens is a great and friendly city.The good thing living in Athens is definitely the weather!!!.I have to admit it that the weather is always,even in winter.Of course it is cold but not as much as others cities of Europe.There also so many things that you can enjoy.So,I would definitely recommend the city!!!

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

The student lifestyle in Athens it doeasn't differ I suppose from others European cities.One thing that it is very useful is that because you are a university student you can have discounts for many things.

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

Life in Athens generally it is not much expensive!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

Well it isn't difficult but the advice I would give is to better find a house near the university that you are because the public transportation could sometimes be very late

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Generally speaking greek food is one the best's in Europe because it is based on Mediterranean food!!!My favourite dishes are:Pastitsio,chicken with potatoes in the oven ,rice with veal in lemon sauce and steak with french fries.

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

As it is known Athens has so many archeologial places and museams,so I would recommend the students to visit all these places.Also visiting the zoo and the amusement park would be a great idea too

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

And yes of course it is good to eat in Athens!!!And of course I'm not meaning only greek souvlaki...Ok some good spots that I like and they also have a great food are:Savvas,Thanasis,Gyristroyla,Kozi's,La Pasteria,Balux and Tzitzikas & Mermigas.Also a really good place to taste good preserves and deserts is the Serbetospito of Nancy.

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

The nighlife is good I have to say.But the most of the nightclubs as I know they're usually playing greek music after midnight.So I would like to recommend some clubs that they're playing good foreign mainstream music:Skyfall,Banana,Akrotiri,Dream City and Boutique.

What advice would you give future students heading to Athens?

Enjoy whatever you're doing,see as many places as you can,always taste the food that it is served and make everlasting memories!!!
