What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Athens is a very interesting place to live. Apart from its rich cultural past, it has many things to do, many places to visit, endless parties and landscapes in a nearby distance.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

The student life in Athens is wonderful. As the capital of Greece, it concentrates a lot of universities and other educational institutes. So you can find a lot of young people living in Athens, from a lot of different places in Greece and abroad as well. Nightlife is amazing and there are places in Athens that are very popular with students.

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

Athens is a lot cheaper compared to other European capital cities. I think that a budget of €600-700 per month is enough for a student (housing, bills, food, entertainment included).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

As far as I'm concerned it is not difficult to find accommodation. There are many apartments available for rent and also affordable hotels and hostels.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Greek food is delicious. My favorite is the famous souvlaki of course.

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

Monastiraki, Thissio, Plaka, the archeological museum, the Acropolis museum.

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes it is good. You will find a lot of places with delicious dishes.
