What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Greek lifestyle in general is more relaxed. People spend a lot of their time by going out with friends for coffee or a drink. It's really focused on the Greek word "parea" which means company with friends. Yes, I would recommend it. Lots of places to see and very nice for just walking around and exploring.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

Student life is very enjoyable as well. You will definitely meet some greek people who will take you out to experience the Greek night life (which is very crazy by the way).

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

A lot cheaper than the big European cities.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

No, not very difficult, but you should start searching early.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is very nice! Lots of meat, sea food and local dishes. The perfect thing to eat outside is a souvlaki (peta, pork, tomato, onion,tzatziki sauce) which is very cheap.

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

All the tourist stuff that concern Ancient Greece.

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, very good.

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is crazy in Athens. Lots of clubs, bars, and places with greek traditional music and drinks. It usually starts very late and can lead up to 7 am.

What advice would you give future students heading to Athens?

Take this opportunity to explore the city and culture, meet new people, and don't just stay in Athens. It's not enough, explore some of the other greek cities and islands.
