What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Of course, I will reccomend it, because it is the biggest city of Greece with a lot of opportunities, full of museums, places for entertaining. Also is a city with nice weather and nice people too. And at the end has a lot of places for shopping, theaters and cinemas.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

One student can do whatever they want. Because it has many places for entertaining for all the types of people. Moreover, it has nice places to visit, like museums, zoo, places to shop, etc

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

One student need approximately 1000 € a month. Because it is a expensive city.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

Depends on the residence you choose to live. Try to find areas near to metro, but you should count the distance between the area you live and the place you want to go because one big problem that faces Athens is the traffic.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is influenced by mediterranean cucina and Greek foods, such as souvlaki, feta, fasolada, pastitzio, mousakas,etc. It has chinese, thailandese restaurants. Genically you can eat whatever you want.

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

Museums, Acropolis, Parthenon, zoo, the areas Zappeio, Thiseio, Plaka, Monastiraki because they are very beautiful and graphics.

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it has many and nice restaurants, taverns,pizzerias, goodies, souvlatzidika,etc. My favorite spot is l'artigiano (pizzeria), because I love pizza. You can try souvlaki from many souvlatzidika, because rarely you will find a place which doesn't make it delicious.

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

Yes, it has many clubs,bars and buzukia. Genically Athens is very known for the nightlife. You can visit the area Gazi, Bournazi, Paraliaki, Trouba, Plaka, etc

What advice would you give future students heading to Athens?

To entertain, to visit museums, monuments and sightseeings and not to forget the traffic and to attend because it is a big city and there are always some dangers, but these will not be inhibitor because Athens really is a wonderful place to visit and it is a good experience. It is a combination of sea and mountains. It's the right place to entertain and to have fun.
