What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Athens is a city that has very nice places to visit. When visiting it, it always brings to my mind all the Greek culture, with the monuments, people walking on the streets and the delicious traditional food. You can find quite cheap places to live and eat however for the people living there the prices are normal for their salary. Some universities can be good, however, I am not sure if I would recommend them for someone who looks at their career future quite seriously. I would recommend to you to go to another place in Europe or around the world that is known for its universities and the quality of living. There are a large variety of things you can do around Athens, the food is cheap there are a lot of coffee places, tavernas, restaurants, and other entertainment or leisure areas where you will always find people moving around.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

To be honest I only lived in Athens whilst I was a young kid until the age of 13. Therefore, I cannot tell you that I was going out every night as I had quite a lot of homework and I always had extra lessons at home as most students do. However, I think there are several bar and restaurants you can go at nights to hang out and meet people. The country is not in a very good state currently since it is in a bit of a crisis, therefore some elderly people are quite angry about their salaries as well as the people living there.

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

It is very cheap if you are coming from another country with higher living standards. With 7 to 15 euros you can easily eat a nice large meal yourself in which you will feel very full and you will eat quality traditional food. In the supermarkets all products are at a low price including meat, vegetables, and all other always found products. The gasoline costs on average 1.50 euros and if you would like to buy a monthly pass ticket for public transportation it would cost you approximately 30 euros. The price per Square Meter to Buy an Apartment in City Centre would be around 1,422.66 € You can find bigger details into this from the following site: https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Greece

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
