What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I live in Athens, city center has everything. If you want to experience more things apart from athens just book your flight or ship and visit a greek island ;)

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

Waking up at 8 o'clock ,go to the University ( at the middle of the distance just buy a coffee ;) ), have your class, go to eat, go for a coffee at the cafeteria with friends, go back to the house, relax and study if you want, dressup for your night walk around the city center near Acropolis, or just go to a nightclub up to the 4 o'clock in the morning. Go back to house to sleep and start this programm again ;)

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

Around 400-600 euros per month..it depents from the costs of rents, eating, and going out to nightclubs

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

It's easy but the problem is to find a good house :)

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Mediteranian food... just perfect. You can try the famous Mousaka, or the greek Pastichio. For vegeterians, try Gemista ;)

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

Monastiraki, Thisio, Gazi, Vouliagmeni, Kiffisia

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Greek taverns are the best. Don't go to Monastiraki square's taverns because the food is really dirty because lots of people go there to eat, there is not so much time to prepare and clean everything.

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

The best! During summer you can go to summer clubs next to the beach. Named Akrotiri, W, Sideradiko, Vive Mar , En plo, Moorings, etc..
During winter, clubs are in Kolonaki, Gazi, Exarchia, Kifissia and around the city center.

What advice would you give future students heading to Athens?

Just have fan!!! don't go to the areas where people who use drugs go.. for example, omonoia square after 23.00..
