What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It's quite chaotic until you learn the city, then you discover cool places everywhere. I woud definetely recommend it, there are places to go for every style. you can choose kifisia /glyfada which is more classy and expensive you can choose the city centre that combines everything. You can choose student areas like koukaki and zografou and exarchia which are more underground. You can choose gazi which is more commercial or kerameikos/metaksourgio which are more chill.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

Depends on the style of each student. I prefer chill and underground places. I love koukaki and exarchia and petralona they're beautiful to walk around or you can go for a beer or find parties. I also love going to the parties of the unis in zografou they're usually entrance free and they gather a lot of students.

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

Depends on the lifestyle of each one. Going for beers is around 3-5 euros, coctails around 9 and clubs around 7-10. The supermarkets arent expensive but you can always go to the market which are held weekly in every region. Monthly budget minimum 200 euros for personal costs.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

Nope not that much. If you want to live in city centre which there are mostly firms you can go look for in exarchia which is usually cheap. Otherwise you can look at areas 2-3 stops away from syntagma with the suburb, they're usually 2-3km away. Koukaki for example is 2km away it's at the stop syggrou fix. Do not worry that much for the distance in these areas there are 24h buses that will get you home, otherwise you can always walk.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There is a lot of variety of dishes and a lot of street food. I am vegan so i have limited options in street food, but in general the mediterrean cuisine has a lot of vegetarian/vegan dishes. I love pizza and souvlaki and dolmadakia and falafels.
