What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The life in Athens is very nice! It is the capital of Greece and as such you can find everything you want and all the things that you are interested to do.The weather is very balanced. Not so cold in the winter and perfect summer days even from April.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

In Athens there are a lot of university students so there are a lot of areas with bars and coffee places for students. Greek students like to have fun so they do go out a lot!

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

Athens is not that expensive city. I could say that the night life is a little bit expensive but generally it is normal. A normal house for students costs around 200-300 euros.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

In Athens it is not difficult to find accomodation as there are a lot of houses for rent and many of them are furnitured. Generally it is good to find a house close to metro stations but not in the main center of Athens as many of them are disresputable. I would propose Zografou which is a student area as it is close the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Panormou.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Greek food is really the best! Try it and you are gonna see!

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

Athens has a lot of museums and archeological monuments to visit. The area of Acropolis,Monastiraki, Thisio, Sintagma are the best.

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

The traditional greek street food is pita giros and souvlaki which you can find everywhere. Genarally you can find a lot of cheap and good street food which is usually 24 hours.

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

The night life in Athens is so enjoyable. You can go to different places according to your style or type of music that you like. For clubs and discos you can go to Gazi-Keramikos which is the area that all the clubs are. For a relaxing drink, or for something more traditional you can go to the areas Petralona, Monastiraki, Thisio and have a walk in the most beautiful streets of Athens. If you are more alternative type you should visit the area of Exarhia.
