What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I'd recommend everyone to come in Athens at least once in a lifetime! If you stepped once in Athens, you'd fall in love with the city and you will always try to come back here again! This is the city, which makes you feel like at home!

Athens is breathtaking and amazing!!!

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

Student lifestyle is good! Universities are great, which are equipped with all the necessities for the students.

Apart studies, you can party 24/7!!! Come in Athens and you will see what is nightlife! Go to Gkazi, Glyfada, Psiri, Plaka and enjoy your stay in the beautiful Athens!

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

Living is not very expensive in Athens. You can go and buy food for cheap in Carrefour or AB Vassilopoulos! There are weekly street market, so called "Laiki" in each area of Athens, where you can buy fruit and vegetables very cheap.

So, go often to Laikis and conserve the money for partying!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

To find an accommodation depends n what kind of apartments are you looking for and in which area of the city. One can even find fully furnished apartment with all bills inclusive for 250 Euros nearby Kipseli area.

The center is more expensive as well as Northern suburbs of Athens.

The best way to find an apartment is internet. www.xe.gr http://athens.craigslist.gr/ are the best web-sites that will help you to find an apartment.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Greek cuisine is delicious! I cannot say which one is my favorite, because all of them are my favorite :)))

You have to taste seafood for sure, mousaka, Greek traditional salad which is called "Horiatiki", Pastitsio, Souvlaki, etc.

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

The first thing you have to do for sure, is to visit Acropolis! With the ticket (12 Euros), bought in the entrance of Acropolis, you are able to visit the following sites: Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, Ancient Agora, Agora Museum, Keramikeos museum and the Temple of Olympian Zeus - sounds amazing, yeah? But not only sounds, you have to see them!!!

There are lots of places you can visit while staying in Athens. I think the following web-site will be useful: http://www.athensinfoguide.com/open.htm

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it's good! Actually, you have to take into consideration we have late dinner in Athens, like after 9:00pm.

Go nearby Plaka, where you can find outside tavernas, where you can find Greek hospitality and delicious food!

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is amazing in Athens! You have to go to Gkazi neighborhood (Keramikos metro-station) where you can find lots of bars and clubs!

In summer go to Glyfada and have fun until morning in the clubs on the seaside!

What advice would you give future students heading to Athens?

You are coming in a right place! good universities, amazing weather, delicious food, hospitable people, wonderful nightlife are waiting for you!

But please take into consideration our strikes :):):) Well, do not believe media! Yes, we do have strikes and demonstrations very often, but those people are not gonna harm you at all! Unless it comes to the strikes of transportation means workers, when sometimes bus drivers, or metro is on strike.

But anyways, you all are gonna to survive :) Life is so wonderful in Athens, you won't notice the negative side of those strikes and demonstration at all.
