What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Athens has a lot of fun due to the fact that has a lot of opportunities to entertain yourself. I would definitely recommend it!

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

Approximately it costs 600-650€ all included (rent, food, you own expenses, bills).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

At this time that Greece is during an economic crisis, I think it's easy to find accommodation due to the fact people here in Greece do no rent new houses because they cannot afford them.

Also, if you are staying alone, a good price for accommodation is 150-200€ for a one-bedroom apartment or studio; and if you are staying with a friend of yours, a good price would be about 300-350€ for a two-bedroom apartment or studio.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You have to try Greek Souvlaki! Also, you have to taste a Greek salad with feta cheese, fruits and Greek yoghurt!

What advice would you give future students heading to Athens?

The only advice that I can give is to take care of your personal belongings whenever you go out. Do not walk alone at night in Omonia.

You have to visit Greek islands. I would recommend Santorini, Mykonos, Paros, Milos, Crete, Corfu, Rodes, and if you are a nature lover you could go free camping in summer in Dragonera (Agkistri island).
