Erasmus Experience in Athens, Greece by anna
Why did you choose to go to Athens, Greece?
It was a completely random choice of events. I had other countries and other cities in northern Europe in mind but I realized that I would not be able to manage the expenses and that I would not have been good in a city without the sea and the warm climate of the south, where I come from. after several waivers and evaluations, the choice fell on Athens, where I had never been but that in my heart I always wanted to see one day, knowing that it would be the best choice for my sensitivity towards history and the past, for my classical and architectural studies.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship (Erasmus traineeship) is maximum for three months but I decided to stay abroad two months. I receive 550euros per month.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Athens?
It cost me a bit because I started with the idea of finding a small apartment just for myself but the prices weren't as low as they say and I opted for a flatshare room with other students.
How much does it cost to live in Athens?
Athens is not expensive, transport is very cheap (only 15 euros for students for 1 month of unlimited Metro), while food in Markets is a little more expensive
