Why did you choose to go to Antwerp, Belgium?

It was just coincidence or let's say an opportunity to do an internship. The company was situated near Antwerpen, so I settled here.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I received a scholarship for 4 months. I can get by with 700 to 750€ per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Antwerp?

Partying during the week and sleeping during the weekend I suppose. Student associations are also making trips and stuff.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Antwerp to other students?

I would.

What is the food like?

I don't exactly know what do you mean by this. It depends what you cook by yourself? Eating in restaurants is not wise to take in consideration, because it is very pricey. Belgian food is also not one of the richest, but luckily you can try various foods at markets made by migrants.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Antwerp?

Well, the accommodations in Antwerp are not easy to find and they're not exactly for free, it costed me 350€ for a room.

How much does it cost to live in Antwerp?

Like I said before, 700€ to 750€ per person should be enough.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is very difficult. Sounds like German, but it is not. I found it easier to read it than hearing and understanding it though.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Antwerp from your city?

You have cheap flights (Ryanair and Wizzair) To Zaventem and Charleroi airport.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Antwerp?

Haven't explored the nightlife in Antwerp enough, so I can't say really.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Antwerp?

No student friendly restaurants here. At least I don't know for them.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Rubens house, train station, and the various churches.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Antwerp in the future?

Go with the flow. It is a busy city, so you will find something for you here for sure.
