What is it like to live in Antwerp? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I was born in Antwerp and I have been living here for 20 years now. I love the city, the vibe, the fact that I know where everything is. People are kind, if you're kind to them, because we expect mutual respect.

The weather is typical Belgian weather: unpredictable. But there are a lot of shops and nice buildings, so when the weather is really bad, you have a place to shelter from the rain. When it's sunny, we have a lot of nice places where you can drink, chill, eat, sun, relax, swim,...

What is the student lifestyle like in Antwerp?

Everybody is very open minded in Antwerp. You have a lot of great bars and clubs where you can hang out at night. During the day you can sit in the park, go swimming, go shopping,... Students who have to study a lot are mostly at the library during the day and at student cafés at night. That's how we roll.

How much does it cost to live in Antwerp?

Antwerp has very nice restaurants and bars, for every price range. Some bars have cocktails for 5€ for students. We also have a lot of restaurants where you get 10% off as a student. Supermarkets are normal priced, unless you want high class products of course.

Be open minded and social. People here will help you any time any place.

And don't eat too much fries. I know they are good, but you'll get fat :D
