What is it like to live in Antwerp? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
When you live in Antwerp, you experience the world. So many different nationalities and cultures. It's a small, cosy and very beautiful city where you'll never get bored.
What is the student lifestyle like in Antwerp?
The student lifestyle is very alive! There are a lot of bars and restaurants. You can always join a student club, they plan parties and activities which is a good way to get to know the people, school and the city.
How much does it cost to live in Antwerp?
The housing is the most expensive. You can find cheap stores to buy food.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Antwerp? Is there any advice you can give?
It's not difficult to find accommodation. There are a lot of different websites you can search on and you can also ask some agencies for help.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
It is freaking delicious! My favorite is French fries with mayonnaise (even tho it's called French fries it's still from Belgium).
What places would you recommend visiting in Antwerp?
Grote Markt, Groenplaats, Meir are the highlights. But don't underestimate the unknown small streets of Antwerp.
Is it good to eat out in Antwerp? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes and it's not really expensive. You can eat all kinds of food from over the world. One of my favorite restaurant is Yadan (sushi), Mockamore (bagels).
Is the nightlife good in Antwerp? Where is good to go?
Very good. There are a lot of clubs (most of them free on Thursdays) like Café d'anvers and Red and Blue. The bars are also very popular.
What advice would you give future students heading to Antwerp?
Enjoy everything... Big things and small things. Eat a lot of French fries with mayonaise and drink a lot of beer!
