erasmus in antwerp
Why did you choose to go to Antwerp, Belgium?
Because it was the better option to study my course.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
5 months (end of January till the end of June).
My total scholarship is 1250€ which gives 250 € per month.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Antwerp to other students?
My university isn't the University of Antwerp. It's Karel de Grote Hogeschool. But anyway I think I recommend, at least the library of the university it's good and I know people who studied there and they said good things.
What is the food like?
One of the typical food from Belgium it's Frituur. You can find everywhere places to eat Frituur. Everything it's fried (chips, chicken, croquette). It's fast food, something like Mc Donald's, but better.
Anyway you can find every type of restaurants, with food from all the world. Or food at supermarkets.
How much does it cost to live in Antwerp?
You pay the monthly rent of the house/room, in my case it's more than 300€.
The other things depends on the lifestyle you take. If you go out every weekends, or if you eat in restaurants often. That is not my case, so I only spend something like 250€ in food and other stuff.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Antwerp from your city?
Airplane to Brussels Zaventem (with the Ryanair Airline).
And there (Brussels - Nacional Lutchaven) you catch the train to Antwerp (Antwerpen - Central Station).
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Antwerp?
I already eat sushi, at .
And also frittur, at Frituur Nº 1.
Coffee and things like that at Normo Coffeebar.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
FoMu - Photography Museum;
Middelheimmuseum;
