Time for more adventures!
Leaving Brussels
The next day I packed my things, brought them into the car (which was standing right in front of the door fortunately) and waited for the owner of the apartment to come so that I could give him the keys. I waited and waited but he didn't come. There was somebody entering into the house but he went to another apartment, so I thought it was not the person I was waiting for. After 40 minutes I wrote a SMS asking if there would come somebody or not and the owner called me, telling me that his husband had already arrived. So it was really the guy who entered before!
I ringed the doorbell and he walked downstairs. It was a bit embarrassing because he had seen me standing in front of the apartment without saying anything, but he was so lovely and didn't mention a word. So I gave him the keys, told him that I enjoyed my stay and said goodbye. I got into my car and tapped my French direction into the GPS. As it was Monday morning there was almost nobody at the streets because they were all working. Within 2 hours I arrived in Amiens and my trip was over. As I didn't have university or anything to study or do, I decided to meet my friend and have a coffee with him. In 3 days I would go to Paris to spend some days with my Mum, so I wanted to enjoy the time with him before. He also would go to Tunesia for a conference for his work.
The magic night
So the three days I passed a lot of time with him, drinking coffee, having lunch, having dinner or watching soccer games in an Australian bar. Actually, I didn't like soccer so much but I loved spending time with him, so I didn't care. We also went to cinema, watching some movies and spent time walking around Amiens.
One night was a magic night for me. We met in the Australian bar, watched a soccer game and went to a little park in front of the cathedral afterwards. It was dark already and a little bit cold, but it was okay. We "played" a bit like little children at the cute playground in the park, talked, sat down, laughed - it was so beautiful there. We were quite close to each other, I knew that there were some feelings in the air but I still didn't know if I wanted to start that relationship on distance. But that night was so special and I enjoyed it so much in that dark little park next to the cathedral, that it was really impossible to hide those feelings. I think that was the moment I really fell in love with him.
But as he went to Tunesia and I had to go to Paris there was not so much time to think about all those feelings. We were writing almost the whole day but anyway I was missing him a lot when we were not together. But I was looking forward to spending the 5 days in Paris with my Mum and she was also quite excited. She had never been to France before, so she had booked a nice hotel in the city centre and I had planned some important sights we would have to visit.
Departure to Paris - First adventures with Mum
So the day she would arrive I packed my things and took a train in the morning to Paris Nord. From there I went to the Airport Charles de Gaulle by RER metro train and waited for my Mum. After an incredibly long time she finally arrived and we took the metro to get to the city centre and to our hotel. We both had started the day early in the morning and were tired, so we went to Victor Hugo and checked into our hotel. We unpacked some things and planned what we wanted to do the first day. As we were both tired we decided to just walk around the Champs-Elysées a bit and give her a first impression of the City of Love.
We had a glass of wine for 12 euros just next to Arc de Triomphe, went to Disney Store, bought a Baguette for lunch and were watching people walking around. Because she was wearing the wrong shoes my Mum didn't want to walk so much anymore and I was annoyed - who was wearing Ballerinas for a city trip?! So we went to Galeries Lafayette in order to look for shoes but of course they were all too expensive. So we went back to the hotel, she changed her shoes and we relaxed a bit before we went out again to look for a nice place to have dinner.
Unfortunately, it started to rain and so it was not quite comfortable to walk around a longer time and we went home directly after having eaten an incredibly expensive pizza. Because we were both very tired, the day ended quickly after having a shower and going to bed.
