What is it like to live in Almaty? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city is not so big but life here is like in megapolis. Everybody hurries somewhere, very noisy. Otherwise night life is very active and there are a lot of places to have a good time. Yeah, its like a small megapolis.

What is the student lifestyle like in Almaty?

I think the same as everywhere.

How much does it cost to live in Almaty?

Around 300 USD per months. It is without accomodation. Avareage price for 1 bedroom flat is 400 usd. Quite expensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Almaty? Is there any advice you can give?

There area lots of accomodation offers but look for appartments in city center. Also try not to leave from city centre too far. City range is quite big.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Fast food in Kazakhstan the same as everywhere. But try some traditional dish like "beshparmak" and national drinks like "kymyz" or "shubat".

What places would you recommend visiting in Almaty?

3 main places that guests have to visit: 1. Medeo (mountain skates stadium), 2. Symbulak in winter (ski resort), 3. Kok Tobe (place where Beatles monument placed)

Is it good to eat out in Almaty? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Try "Dont worry papa" it is the best (and expensive) night club in Almaty (with face control).
Order "Classic Pinta" (best beer I've tried ever) in "Pinta" pub.
