Medical student
I studied medicine from almaty, Kazakhstan and every day used to commute in local trolley buses and trams. Sometimes, the trolley bus halted due to disruption of the electric cable lines. The driver had to put the electric line back in place which caused some traffic jams during peak hours.
During the winter season the trolley buses were very crowded because the outside temperature was -20 c.
People used to build snow men outside their houses and children used to play in snow and do skatting on the snow hills created .
It was a real adventure as often times there was ice on the paedestrian way and we used to slip and fall with some minor injuries.
Sometimes, there was no sensation on the ears , nose and toes fearing frost bite. We became used to the weather and kept wearing fur jackets during winter season.
Local people used to prepare grilled meat and chicken at public places which we enjoyed as one tends to burn a lot of calories when walking during the winter season.
There were theatres and night clubs where people used to gather and enjoy the local culture.
The spring season was full of flowers and there was a refreshing feeling of pollution free environment.
My professors used to take me to their farms where we used to grow tomatoes, cherries and other vegetables.
It was an adventure and will always be a part of my life .
