What is it like to live in Warsaw? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Big city, easy travelling through all areas, cheap alcohol (in club, even less than 2 Euros per a beer ;p ) , much young people speak English, which couldn't be told about older. City is full of green areas, you can rent a bike for free and enjoy the weather. Food is quite cheap, you can also eat in restaurants in every style (famous Italian restaurants, French Cafe, Kebab everywhere in every style, traditional polish food and others). There are many museums, perfect for historic fans and interested in war. Every weekend there is some concert (every type of music, all you need is get interested and search for entertainment stuff). Warsaw is in center of Poland, so you have about 5 hours to the sea, mountain, less that 3 hours to the Land Of Lakes (Warmia i Mazury) which is most breath taking place ever. I would definitely recommend it.

What is the student lifestyle like in Warsaw?

Parties all days, cheap alcohol, many people who want to party, many student profits - you pay cheaper with your ID card.

How much does it cost to live in Warsaw?

Quite cheap; for example, food: bread in shop costs less than 4złoty (1Eu), beer from 3zł, milk about 3zł. Pubic transport: 1 student ticket 1,70zł per 20 mins, normal ticket 3,40 the same one. Club entering about 10zł. You can live one week for 50 zł (the cheapest food).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Warsaw? Is there any advice you can give?

Dormitories are the best option, you keep in touch with other students. The cheapest room is for 300zł in dormitory, renting a room is about 500 zł.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Pierogi!! = dumplings are the most traditional polish dish, you can find it almost everywhere in every variation. Also pizza is very popular, most people it rice/potatoes/pasta and some meat - chicken, pork, beef. You can find there everything!

What places would you recommend visiting in Warsaw?

Łazienki Park, the Palace of Culture, Wilanów castle, every Green Area through all city, Park Club - best day for parties on Wednesday!, every club in the city - there are so many of them.

Is it good to eat out in Warsaw? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There is much to choose through - in the city there are many restaurants, you can also find McDonalds, KFC, Subway and other junk food almost on every corner.

Is the nightlife good in Warsaw? Where is good to go?

I recommend such club as:
Park Club
1500 square meters
Hybrydy
Capitol
Temat Rzeka
HulaKula
Opera Club
and maaaaaaaany others

What advice would you give future students headed to Warsaw?

Enjoy the big city life!! Don't sit in your room, go out and meet new people. Try to attend to some polish course - it's really hard language and it's good to be able to say a thing in polish. Polish people are really open-minded, and even if not all speak English, it's possible to communicate. Although, they like if you speak a little bit in their mother language. Try not to get weight and become an alcoholic (because of the prices, it's very easy to buy more that you really need to eat and drink more usually than normal :D ). Good luck!
