How much does it cost to live in Vienna?

I would say Vienna is rather cheap capital to live in, in particular if you compare with Stockholm, Paris and Moscow. I think its somehow similar to Berlin in price level.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Vienna? Is there any advice you can give?

Usually reasonable student accommodation is provided by the university, but this should be arranged in advance. However if you search for accommodation privately you should expect to offer some security (deposit, or income statement) to the flat owner.
