What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Athens and especially the city center are great. There are many places for entertainment and many alternative choices. If someone knows the correct places then the prices are ok too. Actually only by walking at Syntagma or Monastiraki someone can have fun totally free as there are steet artists a lot these years.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

For a student Athens is the best place to have fun, eat or explore a culture. You can be all day walking around and never getting bored.

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

If you are a student life is actually quite cheap. The food is super cheap and is good as well and there are places for students to have fun in a very reasonable price.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

No it is not difficult to find accommodation in Athens, and it is a very nice place ti leave but not that safe. So if you are a student looking for a place to stay search in the surrounding areas that are close to subway. That way you get a peaceful neighborhood but you are close to the city center too. As an advice i would say do not give any many a priori, take a look at the place first.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is great. Greek souvlaki is the most famous dish but i also like yemista, pies with meat or mousaka.

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

For sightseeing: Acropolis museum, Parthenonas, Vouli, Plaka
For shopping: Ermou street, Voukourestiou, Attica Mall

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

My favourite spot to eat out in athens is in Gazi.

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

For entertainment: James Joyce pub, Six dogs, Gazi college and generally the Gazi area in Kerameikos subway station, Thiseio View, A for Athens, 360.

What advice would you give future students heading to Athens?
