What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Athens is an experience with it's ups and downs, so i cannot recommend it for living here permenently. There are howerver some pretty enjoyable parts of the city.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

There are a lot of activities to be done by students here like going out, partying etc

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

It is neither too expensive nor too cheap, eating out is pretty ok, rents are a bit high.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not hard at all to find someplace to stay, especially if you know basic greek you can find many advertisements for rooms to rent especially nearby academic buildings.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is pretty good, especially you should try some greek cheese and wine.

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

Places where a lot of young people go out are Gazi(Keramikos), Egaleo, Zografou and Halandri.

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Eating out in Athens, you should definitely visit a souvlaki restaurant, where you can find the famous meat wrapped with pie and other stuff:). There are hundrends of them throughout Atherns so you will find it easy to get to one.

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

Well the most known nightlige spot is Gazi, however Athens is immense so there are other places to go to like Kolonaki or Petralona.

What advice would you give future students heading to Athens?

Be careful about gettin stolen when using the transportation! Also do not forget to visit Acropolis.
