What is it like to live in Athens? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Athens is quite nice. The weather is almost always good, most of the times sunny, even in the winter. And the sun is always warm. Unlike e. g UK where u can stand in the sunlight and not feel the warmth. The people are nice and you can feel at home.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

Being a student in Athens is a really good experience. There is always a new bar to go, new people to meet, new food to taste, new experiences to have. But, at the same time, it's equally easy to find places like bars and cafes and make them your ''spot''. Beers start from 2, 5 euros and you can have a really good bottle of wine for 14.

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

There is a big amount of cheap places to drink and eat so that's a big plus regarding the student life. You can even go to parties with beers from a convenient store with 1 euro each. Supermarkets are reasonably priced and you can always go to the outside markets to buy your groceries in an even better price.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Athens? Is there any advice you can give?

Regading the accomodation in Athens, well that depends on the area you wish to live in. central Athens is more difficult but if you look remotely outside like Petralona, Koukaki, Kolonaki, Ampelokipous, Kipseli or Exarchia is easier. (rent from 180 euros) And these areas are right next to the center. (Exarchia is the best choice if you ask me, because it's beautiful with numerous places to hang out, different styles to experience and a variety of people. Mostly young people and students and erasmus people.Best area ever. )

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is really good. Reeeeally good. And you can't even imagine how many choices you have not only regarding the kind of food (greek, chinese, thai, italian, indian, restaurants or streed food) but the variety of prices. You can have really fancy and really cheap. But the thing they have in common is that you can have really fancy and expensive food and really cheap street food but, if you do the right places, the yumminess is guaranteed both ways.

What places would you recommend visiting in Athens?

Acropolis, Mpenaki museum, cycladic art museum, anafiotika, Plaka, Monastiraki, the national gardens, "stegi gramaton ke technon", art galleries like "state of concept". The Art scene in Athens has a lot to offer so there are many many places that you can visit if you just type "art exhibitions in Athens".

Is it good to eat out in Athens? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yeah, is always good to eat out in athens. There are many spots and many choices, depending on the kind of food and price you are looking for. You can find good street food almost everywhere. You can go to Monastiraki for souvlaki (look for Thanasis restaurant); or to Petralona for greek food (look for "Radiourgies" restaurant); or to Psiri -next to Monastiraki- for rakomelo; or "Bar bee que" (μπαρ μπεε κιου) in Peraeus for really good burgers. You can have really good street food for 2-5 euros and you can go to a place and have a sit down meal from 10 euros. (e. g Radiourgies. worth every penny)

Is the nightlife good in Athens? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is one of the best things in Athens. You can go out on Monday and see people drinking until morning. I usually go to Exarcheia where I have many choices or Psiri and Monastiraki. You can also go to Petralona or Koukaki. Or Chalandri and Kolonaki if you want something fancier.
