Why did you choose to go to Athens, Greece?

Weather, unknown and different culture.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

4 mounths. Every month I got 400 euros scholarship.

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

There are a lot of entertainment - beaches, parties, bars, tavernas, museums, malls, etc.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Athens to other students?

Athens is a big city. If you want to something different, Athens can be a good choice.

What is the food like?

Greek food is tasty, but a lot of greeks like to eat european food and fast food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Athens?

There was no dormitories in Athens, so I had to rent a flat.

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

Per month for rent I payed 165 euros. About food - my university in Athens give me a student ID with which I could go to places to get a free meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Greek language is not easy, but a lot of greeks speak English very well. Usually universities have a greek language courses.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Athens from your city?

I took a flight to go to Athens. You can get a good price of flight ticket if you book it earlier (1-2 months ago).

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Athens?

Yes.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Athens?

There are a lot of them in Plaka (Monastiraki square) near Acropolis.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Acropolis + a lot of museums.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Athens in the future?

Don't stay jut in Athens all the time + don't spend all the money for the parties. Take a chance to travel to other Greece places - Meteora, Delphi, Greece islands or other countries
