Why did you choose to go to Athens, Greece?

warm weather and close to the beach :)

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I got 230 Euros per month as a scholarship. It was just enough to pay the rent for the room

What is the student lifestyle like in Athens?

Student life is pretty relaxed, because the classes were only in greek so I had a lot of free time and could do a lot of activities and trips

Would you recommend the city and the University of Athens to other students?

I dont study at the University of Athens, so I can not say anything about it.
But Athens is a really awesome city and I loved to live there for one semester and would definitly go there again.

What is the food like?

There are tavernas and souvlaki places everywhere so you will always find something to eat

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Athens?

No, I just found something via some of the accomodation groups in facebook

How much does it cost to live in Athens?

between 200 and 300 euros for a room in a shared flat

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I did a language course and it helped a lot. you also pick up some words while living there but the language course helped me a lot to get the basics

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Athens from your city?

plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Athens?

in monasteraki or exarchia are a lot of great bars
and if you want to go out more fancy you can go to gazi

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Athens?

and there are also a lot of good ones in plaka

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

acropoli of course and some others around there

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Athens in the future?

you will have an awesome time! just make sure you live in the best areas so you can always get home easily :)
