Bologna, known as the "Learned" for being home to the oldest university in the Western world, the "Fat" for its culinary excellence, and the "Red" for the color that characterizes the historic center, is a wonderful city of art, culture, and commerce. Its soul resides in the medieval historic center, one of the largest in Europe, rich in taverns, shops, and theaters, and characterized by nearly 40 km of porticoes. In the historic center, you'll find Piazza Maggiore, where the charm of medieval buildings blends perfectly with modernity. The Fountain of Neptune by Giambologna and the Medieval Towers, including the Asinelli and Garisenda towers, are must-sees, part of a rich cultural heritage preserved in numerous museums, galleries, and religious buildings. It’s impossible to leave Bologna without tasting its culinary delights, such as mortadella, tortellini, and Bolognese ragù, accompanied by the renowned DOC wines from the Bolognese Hills! Full of exhibitions, fairs, and cultural events, Bologna is a city that can surprise you all year round.
The central train station is 1.5 km away, while the airport is easily reachable in 15 minutes by car.
