What is student life like in Zlin?

I didn't stay in university halls and I was there for an internship, not to attend university. Therefore I didn't meet many students, but those I did meet were very nice.

Would you recommend the town and the university to other students?

It's a small, calm city but the university seems very "welcoming" and there is a good public transport system, it is very affordable and there are many supermarkets.

What is the national cuisine like?

There are restaurants serving many international cuisines and lots of fast food. So, everyone will be able to find something they like.

Did you struggle to find accommodation in Zlin?

No, there was university housing, a youth hostel and by going online and searching in Czech I found many websites with adverts offering accommodation across Zlin.

What is the cost of living in Zlin?

I don't know exactly, but I would say that housing is about 2 or 3 times cheaper than in France. Food in supermarkets and restaurants isn't expensive.

How did you find learning the language? Did the university organise language classes?

I didn't have the chance to attend lessons, the language is difficult to learn on your own. But, the basic phrases can be memorised if you are interested.

By car, without a doubt.

There is a great zoo, and museums. There are plenty of things to see on the outskirts of Zlin!

Do you have any advice for students going to Zlin in the future?

Most of the people outside of the university don't speak any English. I would suggest brushing up on your German!
