Why did you choose to go to Zaragoza, Spain?
It was a smaller alternative, but still with great links to major cities such as Madrid and Barcelona.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
1 year, and I get student finance and my Erasmus grant.
What is the student lifestyle like in Zaragoza?
It’s amazing for nightlife, Calle temple has loads of good bars, nightlife and young people, and there are plenty of cafes catering for students to do work in. It’s a quiet, calm and friendly city.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Zaragoza to other students?
Yes, absolutely. It doesn’t have the daunting feel of a major city, yet has everything you could possibly need for a good experience.
What is the food like?
Amazing! There is a big focus such as burgers- Goiko is the best.
Vegan scene is also well developed - Jalos and Cebrian
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Zaragoza?
No, we took it off girls who went the year before us
How much does it cost to live in Zaragoza?
360 Euro per month rent for us, in a central flat and paying for an extra room- WiFi included also.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
The Spanish in Zaragoza is simple as the accent is very pure. There are language courses, yes and I’m pretty sure one of the universities teaches some courses in English.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Zaragoza from your city?
I’m from Belfast, so it’s Belfast to London Stansted which flies direct to Zaragoza with ryanair.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Zaragoza?
Calle temple- Manolo la nuit and Parros
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The basilica.
