Why did you choose to go to Zaragoza, España?

I wanted to explore the north of Spain as I had already been to the south on holiday

Zaragoza is in Aragon which was a region of Spain that I had never been to

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I have an Erasmus grant of £300 a month

What is the student lifestyle like in Zaragoza?

Really student orientated. A lot of bars and clubs

Would you recommend the city and the University of Zaragoza to other students?

Yes- it’s not as culturally rich as other big cities in Spain but it’s very student friendly

What is the food like?

Just like any other spanish city- spanish food and tapas which I love

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Zaragoza?

I found my accommodation through ErasmusU so I had to pay a fee

How much does it cost to live in Zaragoza?

Very cheap living costs and you can get a room to rent for around €200

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes- there are lots of courses available and if you rent a room in a flat with Spanish people, you will pick up spanish very easily

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Zaragoza from your city?

Flight from England to Zaragoza

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Zaragoza?

There are so many clubs and bars- if you go into the centre, there’s so much choice

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Zaragoza?

Puerta Cinegia Gastronómica Mercado- this is a really cool food court where you go to stalls and choose the cuisine you want- traditional spanish, burgers, etc

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The basilica and the roman bridge

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Zaragoza in the future?

Just immerse yourself in the culture and enjoy the city- it is a really lovely place to live and is so student friendly
