Day 2 in York

I liked the city so much the first time I went, that I decided to visit it again. This time, I was waiting to go for the second time with my boyfriend during Erasmus, and my intention was to show him the places that I had previously enjoyed the most, and others that I wanted to go to see with him.

So we decided to go to York. The first thing we did was to visit the park that was located just past the bridge, at the city entrance. It is really pretty because it highlights the greenness of the grass under the cloudy sky; there are squirrels and the ruins of an old abbey, as well as other interesting buildings you can visit, like an observatory.

After that, we walked through the city centre, my favourite bit. We went into shops that I hadn't visited on my previous trip. What grabbed my attention the most was one of the hand-made teddy bears; they were quite expensive but extremely soft and sweet.

Among the great atmosphere of the city, we came across a street performer with a unicycle that I had seen the last time I came. It's definitely worth going to see him if you come across him.

We climbed the Clifford Tower, a small viewpoint with lots of history. Also, the day that we went coincided with the annual celebration of the arrival of the Vikings, so there were people dressed like them all over the city, and music from the period. If you come across this, don't hesitate about going to see it.

Although the weather wasn't completely amazing, I left with the same loved-up impression of this marvellous city as last time.
