Day 1 in York

friday upload

I have always preferred smaller cities, because I think they are a lot more comfortable for living, going out or studying. It was then when I discovered York was the perfect place for me.

Despite the bad weather, York is still very attractive for visitors. I liked the city centre the most, it is full of small wooden houses, painted in different bright colours. All these houses are businesses, little souvenir shops, dessert shops, bakeries... all of which deserve a visit. There are some book shops with very funny and peculiar book, and even original or old copies, for fans of classical music, for example.

The cathedral is really big and pretty, as well as the river area and the city wall which surrounds York.

There is also a small market in the city centre, which has really affordable cupcakes which are decorated really well, as well as other things. There are lots of chocolate and sweets shops which are very impressive to look at.

The price of a return train ticket from Sheffield to York was around £15. I liked York a lot more than I thoughtI would, and I'd now call it my favourite place in England. Without a doubt, it's somewhere to live in the future.
