Yogyakarta/Jogja is well known as student city and cultural city in Indonesia. It is a monarchy led by a Sultan.
There is the best University in Indonesia (although it is debatable), Universitas Gadjah Mada among of hundreds universities in Yogyakarta.
The living cost here is bloody cheap. There are many tourism objects in the city and surrounding, including Borobudur temple, Prambanan temple, Kraton (Sultan's Palace), Mount Merapi, lots of beaches, museums and cultural performances.
What is the student lifestyle like in Yogyakarta?
Jogja is small but complete city. After studying at the weekdays, the student releases stress at the weekend in the city.
The cozy atmosphere of the city is the best support to study.
How much does it cost to live in Yogyakarta?
The living cost of ordinary people in 2015 is Rp 1.173.300/month. However, the student spends approximately Rp 1.500.000 per month, including entertainment cost

It is very easy to find accommodation in Jogja. The best way to get the best one is to ask the colleagues in the same university (classmates).

The food is tend to be sweet but spicy/hot.
What places would you recommend visiting in Yogyakarta?
Borobudur temple, hiking to mount Merapi, surfing in Gunungkidul's beach, caving, and city tour

As the city grows as the best study city in the nation, so many businessmen invest in restaurants in the city. There are many options to eat out. Jalan Kaliurang, and Seturan is the best place to eat out.
Is the nightlife good in Yogyakarta? Where is good to go?
Although only few options of night life, there are some bar and cafe in the city. Jalan Magelang, Malioboro, and Kampung Sosrowijayan is the best spot
What advice would you give future students heading to Yogyakarta?
Getting in touch with the native inhabitants will led you to feel the beat of real live in Jogja which is very religious, quiet, and slow as if time stopped in Jogja.
