Experience in Wroclaw, Poland by Zuza
What is it like to live in Wroclaw? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It is a big city, but it has its atmosphere and it isn't so noisy as Warsaw. There are a lot of bike lanes and a very good tram-bus connection with every place in the city.
What is the student lifestyle like in Wroclaw?
Everybody can find something. If you want to party and meet new people, drink alcohol, there are some bars/places to break the daily routine. If you prefer a calm lifestyle, there are tea shops, parks, coffee places where you can sit and enjoy your time.
How much does it cost to live in Wroclaw?
You need about 200-250 euro to rent a room in an apartment, or even less if you decide to live in the "student house".
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Wroclaw? Is there any advice you can give?
No, it's not. If you want to rent a room in student house, then just contact with the Polish Erasmus coordinator, they always book places for the foreign students.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Pierogi are the cheapest and the best thing. But there are many places to eat something tasty. A normal price for the dinner is about 16-20 zl.
What places would you recommend visiting in Wroclaw?
I would recommend Skwer Dunikowskiego next to the Oder river and Ostrów Tumski.
Is the nightlife good in Wroclaw? Where is good to go?
I am not so keen on partying, so I don't have much to tell.
What advice would you give future students heading to Wroclaw?
It is better to come here for the summer semester!
