Why did you choose to go to Wrocław, Poland?

Some friends of mine had done their Erasmus there, and they recommended it to me completely. That was the main reason.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My Erasmus experience was for the full academic year, and being from Andalusia, my grant was €600 a month (unfortunately, that is no longer the case).

What is the student lifestyle like in Wrocław?

It's a student city (like Granada, Salamanca or Madrid are in Spain). The lifestyle couldn't be better.

Would you recommend the city and the university of Wrocław to other students?

Yes, yes and yes. The city is incredible in every way and the university (mine is the University of Environmental and Life Science) is nearby and welcoming. The people there are very friendly.

What is the food like there?

I don't really like smoked things or spices, so there were things that I quite liked and other things not so much, but if you have a good appetite, get ready to eat a lot.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Wrocław?

I was in the residence from the start, so no it wasn't difficult.

How much does it cost to live in Wrocław?

I think it can cost as much as you are willing to spend. The rent may be higher than expected. The rest is much more affordable.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?

Yes, I attended a course at the university, but then I stopped going. Polish is impossible to learn.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Wrocław from your home city?

A direct flight from Malaga.

Where would you recommend for a night out in Wrocław?

Any place there is good.

And to eat in Wrocław? What are some of your favourite places to go?

Kurna Chata (a restaurant where they serve Polish food, everything is amazing there) and their cheese soup. It's amazing! And any kind of pierogi.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Everything, from the cathedral, the city centre, the Centennial Hall and the spectacular Wrocław Fountain, the Japanese garden, the museums... there's a million things to see.

Do you have any advice for students coming to Wrocław in the future?

Get amongst the people in the streets, do not be a typical Erasmus student, hang around with Polish people. And, above all, do not come back without getting to know Poland, it's not very well-known and it is very worthwhile.
