Why did you choose to go to Wroclaw, Poland?

We only had few offers at our university for Erasmus, and Wroclaw was one of them. I chose Wroclaw because I fell in love with the city over the photos. I wanted to visit Poland for a long time and this just seemed like an awesome chance to do so.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I have a 5 month scholarship, from October until the end of February.
I am receiving around 750 euro per month.
I am living in a flat with one more person, and scholarship is quite enough to cover all expenses(rent, food, bills) and I even have a bit always left at the end of month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Wroclaw?

Students lifestyle in Wroclaw is really awesome. ESN always organizes a lot of parties, events and trips, so you will never get bored or something :D

Would you recommend the city and the University of Wroclaw to other students?

I 100% recommend both city and University!

What is the food like?

I dont really like the food too much. I like really spicy food and most of polish food that I had tried just wasnt for me. But most of others seem to really like it tho , so its all about personal preference.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Wroclaw?

So-so. Depends on what one is looking for. I found this flat 1 month before I came to Wroclaw so I guess I had some luck. Start searching for flats early , good offers tend to go away quickly.

How much does it cost to live in Wroclaw?

The prices are quite high compared to the ones where I live, but its managable. I am paying my place at flat 225 euro per month with everything included.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Polish language comes from the same group of languages as mine, so I can understand some stuff now and then.
There are always bunch of language courses at University so make sure you apply for them in time

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Wroclaw from your city?

From my city there is no direct line to Wroclaw, I came here by the bus, travelled for almost 20 h ( Bihać-Zagreb(1bus) Zagreb-Budapest(2bus) and Budapest-Wroclaw(3rd bus). Even tho it was long ride it was way more cheaper than airplane ticket for me.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Wroclaw?

Melanz, MUNDO and wherever you see students hanging out :D

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Wroclaw?

Havent really found any that would suit me.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Wroclaw in the future?

Enjoy your time in Wroclaw as much as possible, time flies fast and make sure you see whatever you can!! There is always so much to explore in this beautiful city :D
