Why did you choose to go to Wroclaw, Poland?

I speak polish and Wrocław has a rich culture.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

6 months, no money received since I wasn't Erasmus

What is the student lifestyle like in Wroclaw?

Very organized, there is a structure for internationals, lots of people you can ask for help if needed

Would you recommend the city and the University of Wroclaw to other students?

Yes. Easily the most beautiful city in Poland and the University of Wrocław has some great lecturers as well as subjects

What is the food like?

Food is very good. It's not always as cheap as you would expect it to be in Poland, especially not in the city Centre but there are spots (like Bar Miś) where you can get cheap and good food

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Wroclaw?

I used Erasmusu so I paid a booking fee at first and then monthly around 200€ for a room in the Centre.

How much does it cost to live in Wroclaw?

Accommodation: 200-300€
Food:200-300€
Tickets: about 40€ for the semester
So all together about 400-600€ per month depending on your standards

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Polish is not easy especially if you don't speak another eastern European language but there are languages courses for polish as well as other languages

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Wroclaw from your city?

Public transport. There are trams and busses that can get you nearly anywhere you need to be. But there are often accidents or technical problems which can block the trams, so always be prepared for that as well

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Wroclaw?

Bar Miś but they don't speak English well.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Japanese garden, botanical garden, Ossolineum, Multimedia Fontaine, Zoo, Panorama Racławicka

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Wroclaw in the future?

The app "Jak Pojadę" is great for checking which tran or bus to use
"Biedronka" is the cheapest place to make grocery shopping.
