Why did you choose to go to Wroclaw, Poland?

I am currently studying in Wroclaw Medical University, in English. That's how I came to live here.

Wroclaw Medical University.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I will be here for 6 Years. 1500 zlotys (around 300 euros) is about what a good single room cost. I have spent 3000-4000 zlotys in a month that makes roughly 1000 euros, rent included.

What is the student lifestyle like in Wroclaw?

We are in a Center with 4 Universities! There are a lot of advantages of being a student Like getting some percent off in a café or restaurant when you show them your ID.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Wroclaw to other students?

Definitely!

What is the food like?

I lived in Germany, so I am used to European food, but polish food is delicious.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Wroclaw?

No.

How much does it cost to live in Wroclaw?

Flats are the cheapest living places to start off! Sometimes 500 or 900 zlotys. I like too live alone so a single room flat starts at 1100 or 1500 zlotys.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Currently learning polish. You get into it pretty fast, I would say, since we live in Poland and have to shop or go out you kind of start to understand things on your own or start small talk.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Wroclaw from your city?

Flixbus! Cheapest drive from Wroclaw to Hamburg in 8 hours! But flights are also cheap and easy.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Wroclaw?

Rynek! Or the student island on a Friday Night with beers. Rynek has a lot of clubs like Domorska, Greys usw... As a student and some connections you will be able to find your club or bar.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Wroclaw?

Orient Express. What I learned and was new for me was the system foe open buffet with a scale. You pay for 100 grams of food 3. 70 zlotys or so... (0. 80 Euro) and the food is delicious. Wroclaw has a lot of restaurants not just polish.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

  • Sky Tower
  • The Old Town
  • Rynek
  • Hala Stulecia
  • Best shopping mall:

  • Magnolia park

Wroclaw

Also every #bridge in Wroclaw #odra.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Wroclaw in the future?

Look for videos on YouTube about Wrocław! That's how I kind of made myself familiar with the city and buy for the first weeks a map of the town You will get lost believe me, I had experience with that...
