Is it difficult to find accommodation in Volos? Is there any advice you can give?
Not particularly difficult, try to find accommodation using one of the ads posted in the universities (although most are in Greek) using the help of a local for translation (always willing to help).
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food and local cuisine are great and cheap. Try peinirli, souvlaki and tsipouro first of all with delicious mezes.
What places would you recommend visiting in Volos?
Any of the Tsipoyradika found all across Volos, the caffe in the sea front and in Portaria.
Is it good to eat out in Volos? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
It is great to eat out! Whether fast food (Rainbow, Anotero, Poquito), or taverns in Palea and Tsipouradika (Mezen, Ouzotherapy, Bokos).
Is the nightlife good in Volos? Where is good to go?
Several options for having long drinks in the Saint Nickolas square, in the Palea area for wine and mezes, and various clubs scattered inside the city.
What advice would you give future students heading to Volos?
Rent a place near the sea front, not necessarily close to the university, buy a bike (great way to move around in Volos) and arrange a lot of short time trips in the surrounding area.

everything is nice in Volos by finding new friends in a little challenging as there are not many international students here.
